A Moped And A Girlfriend

Life was ticking along with nothing to exciting going on. I guess I didn't get out enough. Just working nine to five Monday to Friday with no real excitement and to be totally honest I needed to get out more. I needed a life and that started with getting some hobbies and interests that I could do to help meet new people. Living in a town that bordered several others I needed to be able to travel around. There are no trains and the bus service is shockingly bad so I needed to find an alternative.

I was only working in a local factory and wasn't earning a fortune. I needed something that was cheap and affordable but could allow me to travel from town to town quickly and safely when I wanted to. I looked into a push bike but they turned out to be a lot of work as there are lots of hills around the area where I live. I looked into a car as well but they are way too expensive. On the money I am on I could never hope to get a car, not even a cheap one. I needed an alternative.

Then a friend came round riding his new moped. He had only got a cheap moped. Think it was a 50cc moped but it made me realise that there was an alternative so I started to look into possible moped shops that could sell all different types of scooters and mopeds. I found a local moped shop and went for a look around. It was quite large and had a wide selection of different makes and models. So many colours I could hardly believe it. I found the model I wanted and then went online to see if I could find it cheaper. I also enrolled into a training course to get my licenses.

A few weeks later and I was able to enroll in a couple of local courses. One of them was at the local college and another at a local leisure centre. While at college I met loads on new people and made friends with a few of them. Now I am going out to a variety of parties and gatherings and as a result have got a new girlfriend. She often rides with me. I also use the moped to go to work which is saving me time and money not to mention the stress of travelling on the bus. My cheap moped only cost me a few hundred pounds but has changed my life in more ways that I could ever tell you.

I would of course have to recommend that anyone who wants to follow my example and buy a moped gets something like a 50cc moped as they are more controllable for new riders. 50cc mopeds are generally safe as long as you have the correct training and ride properly. You should also invest in the correct clothing to wear while you are riding. Then you to can make the change to your life that you will not look back on and regret.

Scooters, mopeds, Vespas... Whatever you call them, these smaller motorcycles still deserve to share the name of their larger cousins.

Not everyone needs the size of a touring bike, nor the speed of a motocross racer. Some people just want to get out on two wheels in the open air and enjoy the sunshine. Going where you want to go around town, getting maximum gas mileage and avoiding parking hassles, makes the choice of a smaller bike ideal.

Mopeds and scooters typically have smaller wheel rims than standard sized motorcycles. Since that isn't compensated for by raising the frame, ground clearance is less. But what would be a disadvantage in off-road circumstances is just what the scooter owner is looking for.

The term 'moped' is often reserved for smaller bikes, while 'scooter' designates a slightly larger, two-wheeled vehicle. Also, 'moped' originally meant a motorcycle with pedals attached. But the conventions are violated as often as they are observed, nowadays.

Between the low ground clearance, and the 'girl's bicycle'-style frame, getting on and off is a breeze for anyone old enough to legally ride one.

Engines are smaller on the more traditional moped, in the range of 50-150cc. The newer generation of scooters can have between 250cc and 650cc, though they may be heavier than desired at the top of the scale. Some scooters will reach speeds of 60mph, but 40mph is more common, and mopeds may be even slower.

Even the smaller engines may well have more than enough horsepower to suit the owner's needs, though. Modern engine designs have squeezed as much out of 50cc as would have required 150cc thirty years ago. That's helpful in those hilly cities, like San Francisco where a little more power is the difference between having the bike pull you versus you pushing the bike.

The bike typically weighs no more than 220lbs (100kg) and often less, with mopeds on the lower end of the scale. That makes either of them easy to maneuver with the engine turned off. It also means that, combined with the smaller engines, gas mileage is great. In an age of ultra-high gas prices, 70 miles per gallon looks very attractive.

Designed for short trips around town, you won't want to do any long distance driving with these smaller bikes. But getting in and out of parking lots is a breeze and you can almost always find a parking spot in the city.

Even with the small size, comfort has been kept firmly in mind in the design. Between the wide, plush seats and the ample fairing on scooters you won't suffer from excessive road feel or wind.

And most mopeds or scooters have integrated accessories that are often extra on standard bikes. Good-sized containers in the rear, electric starters up front, and automatic gear boxes in the middle make these a joy to own. Some even have electric motors.

The price for a smaller bike is often correspondingly smaller. While a good touring bike can run $12,000 to $20,000 or more, even a fully decked-out scooter will only be around $2,000. Retro Vespas and other scooters are often higher, though, around $4,500. Mopeds are commonly less than $1,000.

So, if your need for speed is a little less than your desire to just get around town in comfort and style, a moped or scooter may be just what you want.

Dirt bikes and motocross bikes have a lot in common, but the two styles address different goals. As always, consider the kind of riding you intend to pursue in order to select the type that's right for you.

Trail

Dirt or trail bikes are designed for just what the name suggests - riding along trails, most of which are dirt. They can be used around town, but they wouldn't be comfortable for long rides and there isn't much room for a passenger.

Trail bikes are small, lightweight and have great suspension for absorbing the shock of bumps, rocks and short falls off low cliffs. Engine sizes are on the smaller size, but often have high torque for hill climbing. Single-cylinder motors are the norm. Ground clearance is considerably greater than a cruiser or touring motorcycle.

Sometimes referred to as a dual sport or Enduro motorbike, tire selection is important. Consider where you'll do most of your riding: forest, beach, desert, back roads, hills, etc. Windscreens can be attached, but it's unusual. Dirt bike riding is often at slower speeds and no one is expected to be in front of you throwing gravel in your face.

Honda has been making trail bikes for 40 years now, and their latest models encompass everything they've learned about engines, suspension, handling and more over that time.

Motocross

Like dirt or trail bikes, motocross bikes are lightweight and have high ground clearance. But here all the attributes are taken to an extreme.

Motocross engines tend to be smaller than that of trail bikes. Traditional two-stroke engines keep the weight to a minimum. These bikes are built for fast acceleration, so they sport 5 or 6 speed gear boxes with close ratios.

To get the weight as low as possible, even stop lights and headlamps are frequently removed. Suspension is stiff, almost non-existent in feel. Motocross bikes are built for racing, and usually off-road or multi-level rather than just a simple oval track.

Aerodynamics isn't important, since the bike won't be travelling at highway speeds, but the streamlined look is still there.

Achieving comfort plays no part in the design and there's never room for passengers. Handling and maneuverability are everything. Races are won by the ability to navigate turns and low hills as quickly as possible.

When you can't stay on, don't worry. These babies are rock solid. They're built for tumbles and spills. The rider may never get up again, but the bike most certainly will.

Forget about accessories. No one is going to hang a saddlebag on these hummingbirds. They buzz and zoom, dart and dash. Even a mirror would be an unnecessary distraction. No one has time to look behind when the road ahead is hairpinned and steep.

Honda makes award-winning motocross bikes, but they've been duking it out with Kawasaki for the title of champion for decades. Both manufacturers make solid competitors.

Touring

Several clubs organize tours that can involve travelling 1,000 miles per day. Even on smooth asphalt, that kind of trip demands an ultra-comfortable ride. The touring motorcycle is designed with just those requirements in mind.

Generally larger than standard motorcycles, touring bikes weigh more and have longer wheelbases. 500 lbs is average and bikes hover just shy of five feet long. Seats are designed with those long periods in the saddle in view, for both driver and passenger.

Comfort in seating is key, but the position of the handlebars, pegs and the overall ergonomic configuration is made as a complete package. Fairing is common, as is a larger gas tank. 'Fairing' is the flared composite that surrounds the front of the bike. It reduces drag by a modest amount, but at lower speeds it does little other than make the bike look stylish.

Windscreens are essential, even though a helmet is standard head gear. Better to have bugs on the windscreen than on your faceplate. Or, in your teeth!

BMW is famous for their touring models, but Honda has made heavier bikes since the 1980s that are often used for this purpose. And those two have lots of competition. My friend, Don, bought a Suzuki touring bike last year and he loves it. Watch out BMW and Honda!

Sub-categories include the sport touring bike, which is usually smaller and has a smaller engine. Cruiser/tourers are a cross-breed that serve a little wider set of driving goals.

Cruiser

'Cruiser' is a broad category of motorcycle that includes just about everything that came to be associated with the breed from the 1930s until about 1970. After that, bikes became increasingly individualized, customized and mass-marketed.

Ironically - considering the rebel persona associated with bikes - the emphasis in cruiser design is on tradition. Choppers, retro, standard... no matter the sub-category, these bikes are big, heavy and solid. 600 lbs is common and the seat is generally lower, with engines that are larger than other types. The wheelbase is longer than average and the forks are raked at a greater angle.

Cruisers are definitely not for off-road, though many have seen a lot of dirt. They're built for stability, but often have high top speeds. They usually have lots of room for extras, like saddlebags and even a sidecar. 1400cc engines are common and the pipes are made to rumble.

Harley Davidson is the king of the category, but they have lots of competition. Indian has made a lot of models over the decades, but they have been going in and out of business for a hundred years. Suzuki and Kawasaki make 1500cc bikes that display all the features of a traditional cruiser.

As with most motorcycles today, there are a dozen common sub-categories with a variety of customization options. Power cruisers, choppers and more are available.

A cruiser can, and has been, used for touring but for those long road trips the touring bike will be more comfortable. Here, style is everything.

To some people, changing the oil in your car is just like changing the oil in your motorcycle. Just drain out the old oil, install a new oil filter, and pour in the desired amount of new oil and your done. So when it comes time to change your motorcycle oil, why can't you use the same oil that you use in your car? Motorcycle oil and automotive oil look and feel the same so how could there be a difference between the two?

Automotive oil looks pretty enticing at $3 a quart but any experienced motorcycle rider knows that using automotive oil in motorcycles causes serious damage. In automotive vehicles, the engine is always separate from the clutch and transmission so they have separate oils for each. In automotive engine oil, there is more of what is called "friction modifiers" to help lessen the amount of friction on engine components and improve fuel economy. Of course, improving fuel economy has always been the main goal of the automotive industry making friction modifiers a necessity for all automotive oils.

These friction modifiers that are added to automotive oils are what cause serious damages when used in motorcycles. The friction modifiers clog the clutch plates in a motorcycle's transmission causing serious clutch slippage and disabling the motorcycle. You see, for motorcycles to be as compact as they are, they have to combine their engine and transmission into one casing. This means that everything is lubricated by only one type of oil including the valves, piston, transmission, and clutch.

But to make up for this lack of friction modifiers, motorcycle oils use higher levels of anti-wear additives such as ZDDP, also known as phosphorous, to limit engine friction and wear. According to Transport Canada, an eye opening 234 motorcyclists suffered fatalities in Canada in 2005.

Now that safety should be on your mind, hopefully you are considering taking a rider training course. These courses are available on all levels; entry, experienced and even for the "elite" riders that have a considerable amount of riding experience. The primary example is a program called"Gearing Up". Insurers, private organizations, federal and provincial governments, and the motorcycle industry recognize this rider program across Canada. Follow these tips below to be sure to help you prepare for the nice weather and ultimately your safety.

Safe riding tips for everyday motorcycle riders.

1: Motorcycle Pre-ride Inspection:

Before you start your ride, be sure to inspect your bike to ensure it is in optimal riding condition.
Do you know how to perform a T-CLOCS pre-ride inspection? If not, follow these Simple steps

Tires and Wheels - Check your tire's air pressure, spokes, tread, brakes and bearings. Ensure that you don't find any damage or cracks of any sort.

Controls - Inspect the throttle, levers, switches, hoses and cables.

Keep in mind that these groves can be extremely difficult to steer in if they are parallel to your bike. Lastly, cement roads are usually uneven since they are poured in sections so be sure to keep an extra eye out for these potential hazards as well.

6: Ride defensively:

Keep up with a speed that is consistent with your riding skills and weather conditions.
Most accidents occur at intersections! Make sure you are highly alert when you pull up to or drive through one.
When changing lanes, always check your mirrors, blind spots, signal and follow up with a final visual check.
Do not ride on the shoulder or pass on it. Never tailgate and pass other motorists only when it is safe to do so.

Mopeds offer excellent ROI (return on investment) especially when it comes to their fuel consumption. If oil prices continue to go up, mopeds would come back to the automobile market with an even greater gusto. Most college campuses have a number of students riding mopeds on campuses. Though mopeds are essentially the same, they have different definitions in most states. Introduction

Protective clothing, such as a jacket, boots, and gloves reduce rider injury severity and, therefore play an important role of preventing or at least decreasing the degree of injury should a crash or fall occur. Weather protection is also an important aspect of PPE not mentioned above is protection from the elements. PPE provides protection from wind, rain and cold. The Department of Transportation recommends using the following protective gear for safety: DOT (Department of Transportation) approved motorcycle helmet with a high safety rating, good quality leather jacket, thick leather chaps or leather trousers to protect your legs, leather gloves to protect your hands, and leather boots to protect your feet and ankles. Protective clothing and equipment serve a three-fold purpose for motorcyclists: comfort, protection from the elements, and some measure of injury protection. Remember that the passenger needs safely gear as well.

Stay Visible: Extreme Visibility is Very Important

One of the main reasons motorcyclists are killed in crashes is because the motorcycle itself provides virtually no protection in a crash. Also it is no surprise that the majority of motorcycle/automobile accidents are due to poor visibily. Make yourself visible: Choose protective gear that will increase both the rider and passenger visibility in addition to providing protection in the event of a crash. Jackets and trousers should be made of heavy-weight, durable material like leather or denim. These garments tend to provide greater convenience in terms of pockets and vents. However, textile fabrics do offer less abrasion protection than leather gear.

Protect Your Feet, Ankles, and Lower Legs

Proper footwear for motorcycle riding gives superior protection for the feet, ankles, and lower parts of the legs. Sandals, sneakers, and similar footwear should not be used since they provide very little to NO protection from abrasion or a crushing impact. Despite their toughness and protection, most boots are very lightweight. Tough, strong, moderately flexible boots with stiff rubber, oil/chemical resistance soles with a good grip provide the rider protection from a number of risks. A safety oriented, protected motorcyclist will wear boots with heels that fit on motorcycle foot rests (pegs) that also provide ankle support. Tough, strong, moderately flexible boots with stiff soles provide the rider protection from a number of risks. If the boots have heels, they should be low and wide to provide a stable base when standing with the bike. Extensive research has shown that heavy leather boots or boots designed specifically for motorcycle riding are the only types of footwear that offer any foot protection in a crash. Choose boots that are classified as motorcycle boots, because they are constructed with special seams and techniques for the greatest abrasion, tear, crush protection, and thus provide excellent injury prevention. Besides the obvious abrasion, as you probably already know, on most motorcycles there are many hot parts that reside near your feet and ankles: Motorcycle boots help prevents unnecessary injury to these areas by placing a thick barrier between your lower legs, feet, and ankles. The choice of buying boots with reflective tapes or placing some on the boots yourself, (this tape can usually be purchased very easily at a number of online merchants or if you prefer to fight traffic and shop around some department stores also "should" stock it).

Protect Your Hands

Besides abrasion protection, gloves usually offer a better grip on the controls, especially in extreme weather and when riding on rough surfaces. They also provide some level of protection against flying objects, such as rocks thrown by traffic or insects (yuck). Motorcycling gloves are typically gloves made of leather with some type of padding. Gloves provide more safety if they cover the wrist area and fingers, this provides extra support in case of a crash or fall.

Most bikers know that helmets add protection and most states require that every biker and passenger use one. Maybe I'm wrong but I thing that the simple act of putting on a helmet is a reminder that you are about to participate in a very dangerous activity and this simple act places your unconscious mind in safety mode. A helmet also provides eye protection and decreases wind noise which allow the rider to see and hear better. The major function of the motorcycle helmet is to prevent injury to the head. Full face helmets, however, also protect the lower jaw. There is a new helmet on the market now that incorporates a full face helmet for better protection in which the face/jaw shield portion can be lifted up and opened. This feature allows for better communication function ability while also making the helmet as easy to put on and take off as the popular open faced models, When purchasing a helmet, look for those that meet a high protection standard as indicated on a tag or on the helmet itself. Unfortunately there are helmets being sold that do not meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) standard and do not provide the level of protection needed while riding your motorcycle, much less offer safety from injury should a fall or crash occur.

It is very important to remember to check that all lights are working properly on your motorcycle; this should include the headlights, tail lights, signal lights, brake lights. Be sure to also check the motorcycle horn before each ride as well, if present. If you don't have one purchase one and make sure it is properly installed. Visually assess the condition and routing of control cables, making sure they move freely, also check that cables are not so tight as to interfere with steering. Make sure the cables have no sharp angles and replace any frayed cables found immediately. Check to make sure your throttle moves freely, with no sticking and snaps closed when released. Remember to check forks and shocks, making sure they travel freely and are properly adjusted. Any attached load should be inspected and reinspected periodically to make sure it is securely fastened, and that any straps are tight, have no loose ends, and not freely moving. Last but not least, every safe rider should practice being aware of her/his surroundings and observation skills. If you are prepared to buy outright, you have many options that you can take later on too, if you decide to carry out any modifications to put your own individual stamp on the chopper motorbike itself. Also buying these days a chopper in the aftermarket is a pretty easy process with a great deal of options available to you. How to Stunt a Motorcycle - Part Three

Behold the daddy of the daddies of all street freestyle stunts...the wheelie! Now, with the wheelie, you can perform the simplest to the most complex tricks. The basic sit-down wheelie, the high chairs and no handers are just some of the tricks you can try to do. Here are some how to's on doing wheelies.

1. Basic Sit-Down

The basic sit down is one of the easiest to do but hard to explain since different techniques can work well for different riders. There are two kinds of wheelies, the power-up and clutched wheelie. With the power-up wheelies, the bike's motor is used to get the front wheel up. You rev up near the bike's peak torque and twist the throttle to get your front up. With power wheelies, you deal with more power and there is higher possibility of looping your bike.
On the other hand, clutched wheelies require you to pull the clutch in just enough to get the rpm to rise up to the peak of the torque and quickly let it go. Then pull the clutch in slightly. When the revs rise for a split second, drop your clutch and back off the throttle when your front starts to come up. Remember that the higher your front wheel is , the less throttle you will need to keep it up. Either way, keep your arms stiff, jam your legs on the tank and cover the rear brake.

2. Stand-Up

You can also do this through power or clutch. You can bounce on the handlebars to preload the front suspension. With the fork's energy and throttle input, your front wheel will pop up. To bounce, stand up, lean forward and push your arms down so that the fork will compress. When the front wheel is up, drop your butt a little, bend your knees when you pull the bike up and when it rises to about 10 o'clock, you can straighten your legs and lean back.

3. Can Can

In doing a Can Can, you start with a regular stand-up wheelie. You take your right leg between the tank and your left leg. There's not much space between the tank and your leg, so you should be careful when you move your right leg. Since your right leg is the one moving, all your weight will be at the left side of the bike. Therefore, you need to counterweight by pulling your shoulders to the right side. Make sure to balance your body at the center. Do it slowly first to familiarize yourself on how you will move your right leg. Doing it fast might lead your bike to get out of control. If this happens, let off the gas, slightly tap on to the rear brake and bring your front down. When both wheels are on the ground, you are safe again.

4. High Chair

With a high chair, you need to sit on the gas tank with both of your legs on the sides. The easiest way to do this is to kick one leg at a time because one hand will remain on the handlebars. Some bikes have cruise control and with this, you can kick out both your legs at the same time. To do this, you can dig your ankles onto the headlight. Squeezing in the tank or modifying its shape is a big help since this is where you'll sit on. High chairs require more throttle since your weight is in front, but you should also be smooth on your clutch. You can also lean back and bounce the bike a bit. Further, you don't really need to touch the fairing with your feet. As long as your legs are up high and the only thing that touches the tank is your butt, you're good to go.

Japan Champion Bike Stunt Rider Shin Kinoshita

I met Shin through a mutual friend named Taka one Friday night not really knowing what to expect. The only hints given by Taka as to what Shin actually did was along the lines of "He does bike stunts..." It didn't occur to me that 'bike stunts' referred to almost impossible to imagine maneuvers on a Kawasaki street bike. Coming from an automotive orientated background didn't help much when talking to Shin about what he got up to, it really was a matter of just sitting back and watching everything unfold before my eyes before getting the true meaning of what it meant to be a bike stunt rider. In the US they're known as 'stunters' but that name doesn't work so well in Japan so the more easily understood term 'bike stunt rider' is used. Shin Kinoshita is the #1 stunt rider in Japan at the moment and has enjoyed that title since early 2006. He's been competing at bike stunt events since 2002 and last year took 3rd place (behind two American riders) at MULTIPLEX 2006 held at Odaiba in Tokyo making him the highest ranked Japanese rider to date. He'll be leaving for Florida early next year for the Stuntwars 2008 event to compete in the individual freestyle category along with many other riders from the USA and Europe including Brazil's A.C. Farias.

We headed over to Shin's very small and oddly named garage 'Reas Log' (from a previous business) in downtown Sannomiya under the elevated Hankyu train line. It's such a small place but Shin has made use of the limited area very well, even constructing himself a second floor storage area above the garage using an iron frame and thick wooden floor boards. This small motorcycle garage is fairly typical for Japan, the rent is cheap in relation to the area it's in and offers just enough space to work comfortably. Shin has two 600cc Kawasaki ZX6RRs he uses for stunt riding, a white 2003 model and black 2005 model. The white ZX6RR is his main bike, the black one is used as a back up. Most of the custom parts needed for bike stunt riding on both his Kawasaki stunt bikes have been handmade in his workshop using aluminum, stainless steel or titanium depending on the application. He also makes his own custom parts including his very own line of aluminum mufflers in three sizes ranging from 60,000 - 70,000 yen which is very reasonably priced for this level of build quality. Shin had some other bikes is his garage, a Kawasaki Estrella BJ250 G2, a Honda VFR400R (NC24) and a couple of Honda Gorillas, one of which was over 20 years old and in excellent condition.

Shin's white ZX6RR is what we're focusing on though, it being modified in a similar fashion to stunt bikes from the USA. The most obvious modifications include 'frame sliders' on either side of the bike to protect the fairing and frame in the result of a fall, a '12 o'clock bar' (commonly known as a '12 bar') which is a metal plate attached behind the pillion seat to protect the sub frame and enable the bike to be ridden in a vertical 12 o'clock position, solid mounted rear foot pegs for various wheelie stunts, a hole in the pillion seat for a place to stand when doing wheelie tricks (in addition to the foot pegs) and the most technical modification of all, the 'smashed tank' dented fuel tank for a more comfortable seating position when doing tricks such as a 'High Chair wheelies'. Other mods which aren't so easy to recognize include a handlebar mounted rear brake lever and a larger rear sprocket for snappier power delivery. FRP racing style upper fairing (minus headlights) and custom tribal design graphics finish off the bike which does well to retain its stock appearance despite all the modifications. The 600cc ZX6RR puts out 120ps and weighs around 170kg, which is kind of disconcerting when seeing that very same bike braking from 60km/h on it's front wheel just inches away from you.

Once everything was loaded into the Toyota HiAce we headed off down to Pier #5 at Shinko Higashi Wharf. It's a great atmosphere down there with all the shipping passing by, the lights from Port Island illuminating the sky in the background and the ghost town like ambience of the vacated wharf at midnight. If there were any ghosts hanging around the wharf at the time they must've been scared off by the sound of Shin's bike roaring into life! No sooner had he warmed the bike up when he shot off into the distance at full throttle and did this huge power slide then turning around and coming back towards our position culminating in a long 'no footed endo'... brilliant! At this stage I was advised to leave the photo shoot until later because Shin was just warming up. Warming up? It was the most intense so-called 'warm up' I'd ever seen, on par with professional stunt bike rider demo videos. He kept this up for 20 minutes with every imaginable stunt you could think of, all done at an insanely quick speed which would put a lot of pro stunt riders to shame. After an interview and a chat he was back at it again, this time putting even more effort in. Just seeing the violent way he went about throwing the bike around was a sight to see, let alone the the almost flawless routines he pulled off with stunts such as 'no handed wheelie circles', 'high chair wheelies' and an totally insane 'no handed endo'. It was while he was practicing long endos that he started attempting to do them one-handed. On one particular attempt he came to a stop literally inches away from me with the bike's rear wheel coming back down at an angle which would've meant certain hospitalization if I hadn't moved at the right moment! It was hard to judge how far away the bike was looking through the camera's viewfinder... made for an interesting photo though!

Shin has been practicing virtually every night for the last 5 years and has elevated his skill to a point where the second best rider in Japan is a long way behind. At the start of the night I wasn't sure what to expect but by the end I knew very well what it took to be a highly ranked stunt rider... that being insane levels of courage and total faith in the bike's braking system! I couldn't stop thinking about what we'd do if Shin had a big fall and was flung from the bike or the bike came down on him. He proudly pointed out that he only wears a helmet (which would look more at home on a BMX riders head) and gloves for protection, anything else is too restrictive and would prevent him from pulling off certain tricks. Add to that the type of stunts he's doing, at the speed he's doing them at, it makes for a very dangerous thing to do in your spare time!

Husqvarna Motorcycles are a world renown company that has been around since the beginning of the 1900's. Cagiva introduced some new 2-stroke models and did away with the old 2-stoke models which already had numerous championship titles but still kept the same 4-stroke models. The new 2-stroke bikes had difficulty competing with the Japanese made bikes and Cagiva couldn't produce enough bikes and parts to supply the high demand. This change in ownership is why Husqvarna motorcycles and parts became so hard to find causing them to be known more as a rare and exotic motorcycle.

It has been 2 decades now that Husqvarna motorcycles have been struggling to get back into the competition field only taking a world championship here and there, but with a new change in ownership may prove to be the end of the struggle. In July of 2007, the BMW Motor Company decided to purchase the Husqvarna motorcycle company for the sole intention of marketing Husqvarna motorcycles to help market BMW's line of motorcycles. You see, when you are a licensed driver, one way or the other, you must have gone through the necessary trainings and tests to ensure that you are qualified to drive a motorcycle.

Here's a rundown of my motorcycle-riding safety tips:

1. No license, no driving.

2. Wear a motorcycle helmet every time you ride a motorcycle, either as the driver or as the passenger.

4. Don't drink and drive.

NO LICENSE, NO DRIVING

Dirt Bikes For Cross Country Rides - The Adventure Of Your Life

There are those who ride a motorcycle to deliver packages, there are those who simply use it as a cheap mode of transportation, and there are those who ride for the pure pleasure of it. I belong to the latter group: I ride my motorcycle for its heart-thumping, pupil-dilating adrenaline rush. I love my motorcycle for the sense of freedom it gives me, for its agility, and for its capability to let me explore places no cars have ever gone-because they simply can't.
This is the other side of me.

WEEKEND MOTORCYCLE ADVENTURES

I always look forward to these weekend escapades to the countryside. My garage is more like a showcase of this particular sport. You could see motorcycle gears, motorcycle accessories, among them two kinds of helmets. For highway drives, I wear the open face hjc helmet. I don't want to miss the complete sensation I get with the wind rushing on my face (barring some occasional bugs crashing on the motorcycle goggles or my face).

Desert. For endless sand, dunes, and non-stop action, Utah is my choice as it is the nearest state from where I live. However, I only get to go there when on a caravan with other riders (free trailer ride, and good company). I sometimes get lucky when I see open pits or deserted large construction areas. These sites are the closest you can have for your sand and gravel maneuvering stunt practice.

Rolling flatlands. This is one of my favorite haunts. I love these areas for the breeze, swaying grass, surprise gullies. What I love most about the flatlands is the late afternoon part. The panorama is breathtaking. Being a city rat like me, only in these areas could I really see and appreciate the vastness and the beauty of the skies. The colors are just dream-like especially during dusk. A mug of coffee goes well with this setting

Woods and mountains. These areas provide a lot of surprises. More difficult maneuvers and you can ride for hours and won't get on the same spot. Creeks or streams or dry river beds are my most favorite treats. A chance dip in the river whenever possible, either to bathe or wash my motorcycle, is a bonus.

Troubled John Travolta, pressured Tim Allen, crazy Martin Lawrence, and nerdy William H. Macy just individually personified parts of our inner selves that are dreaming of getting out of the urban life's rat race.

You drive your two-door convertible in your Armani suit, one hand pressing your iPhone against your ear talking to a client or your boss. Unconsciously, you stop talking on the phone and follow the rider with that blank stare. You may not notice it, but you may have just stared...longer than you think.

No Cars, Just My Dirtbike on the Countryside

Since at a young age, I loved the brute force and agility of a dirt motorcycle. This makes it more interesting as the beauty, serenity, and the sense of power of vast plains, and rolling hills also fascinate me. Virgin forests seem to always beckon and attract me to explore and bask in its beauty and mystery.

A horse would have been lovelier for these weekend adventures. But being an urban geek that I am, it would be geekier if you find a Quarter Horse in my pad, wouldn't it? Besides that, I like my 449cc liquid-cooled four stroke engine Honda CRF450X better. This motorcycle also makes my living room look more hip as it stands there like a large work of art....and modern technology.

A motorcycle is the modern equivalent of the horse, and this is exactly what I have in mind whenever I am on my weekend adrenaline motorbike overdrive in the countryside. It's just me, my motorcycle, my motorcycle gear, and, for protection, my shoei helmet, against the wilds.

The new Honda CRF450X motorcycle is the best trail bike I ever had. It packs a big-bore brute force of 449cc engine with a lot of fine-tuned qualities like the new Honda Progressive Steering Damper, better chassis and it's over-all body look improved by its much slimmer fuel tank.

Driving this motorcyle through the panorama of rolling hills, it seems to grow wings. It flies! It roars! It canters, it gallops. Nothing feels more reassuring and more powerful than the sound of its engine as this beast responds with the slightest twist of its throttle, the squeeze of its clutch, a tap to shift gears. It's a fine good steed, a pure-breed race-horse that blends motocross with off-road.

SHOIE MOTORCYCLE HELMET AND SAFETY MOTORCYCLE ACCESSORIES

Looking from afar, you would see me bob up and down like a trapeze artist on wheels as I glide and fly from hill slope after hill slope. Crossing creeks or even driving uphill within them is simply wonderful as you are flanked by mist in rainbow colors. The shallow rocky rivers are quite a beauty to conquer too.

I have had my share of falls and bad crashes from roots, sharp bends that end towards a log, burrows, and loose rocks. Safety helmet, proper clothing, pads, and an ounce of stoicism every time you fall surely help.

How to Stunt a Motorcycle - Part Two

vThis article is a continuation of the stunts discussed in the first article on "How to Stunt a Motorcycle".

3. One-Hander:

First step is to do a normal endo and when you reach your balance point, let go of your left arm while keeping your right arm stiff on the handlebar to prevent steering on any place. The key here is to make sure that your right arm is straight stiff and will not move or else. Aside from this, you should use your lower body to support your body weight since your arms cannot really do this at the moment. To do this, move all your weight to the tank and lock your knees into the tank to hold you up.

4. High chair:

This is for experts only. The hardest part of this is getting up on the tank and moving your feet to the front of the bike. They key is to move into position as quick as you can. You can do this by putting one hand on the windscreen, then jump straight up and forward then kick your legs out as you come across. Your one hand on the windscreen will be the gauge on how far forward you can jump. Once you're up and about, hold on to the handlebars and settle on the tank and brace yourself against the windscreen.

You need less initial brake to pull this off since the back end comes up quicker. All your weight is already in the front wheel so no worries on weight transfer. Your balance point will be lower for the high chair. Feet-over-the-front endos are shorter in distance because of the harder steering of the back end. You always want to have a little speed left to not stall while rolling back.

5. No-footer:

When you can already do rolling endos, this one will be easy for you. This is like a regular endo but your weight will be supported by your arms since your feet will be up and your knees can't lock on to the tank. You have to sit on the gas tank and put your body up from the get-go. Practice regular endos while bending your knees to unweigh your feet and legs. To know if you can bring your feet off the pegs is when your upper body is right. Just don't get your feet up unless you're already against the tank, or else you will destroy your motorcycle and crash.

Just some tips on doing endos: Come into your practice area fast then slow and gradually grab more brakes. When you feel that your brake starts to bite, move your weight up a bit and grab a little more brake. If you practice this way, you'll soon get your back end floating and going around smoothly. If you feel like you're too high, let the brake off slowly, and you'll go down. When you're new at this, if you're up two to three feet, you already feel like you are going to flip over. The best way to learn endos is to take it slow then put more brake pressure along with your comfort level, and you will reach your balance point soon.

The Gas Powered Scooter - Now I Get It

It seems like the gas powered scooter is making a come back recently. I have to admit that there was a time when if I saw one of my friends riding a scooter then I probably would have laughed for a week.

I don't really think it is so funny anymore though. With the way that gas prices continue to rise my entire family may be on these things soon.

I have been looking around at a lot of them and there are quite a few that are more bike then I realized. Some that I have seen are even claiming to go as fast as 70 miles per hour. The only problem is that for the faster ones you have to get a motorcycle endorsement on your license.

The speed that a gas powered scooter can go is not really what has gotten my attention though. It is the fuel economy that makes these things so attractive.

A lot of these bikes are getting between 80 and 100 miles per gallon. My truck gets about 22. Just off of going back and forth to work everyday you could save a fortune in gas.

I don't think I would want to ride one on the highway just because of how fast the traffic around you is going. Just for running back and forth to work and maybe a few trips to the store these gas powered scooters would be great though.

They are not as intimidating to ride as an actual motorcycle and most of them only weigh two or three hundred pounds. Most of them are far cheaper than a motorcycle as well.

With all of the benefits I keep finding on these I just need one thing from everyone else. Just try not to laugh when you see the fat guy go by on the scooter. You might hurt my feelings.

No surprise there. In the past, like most teenagers, I couldn't afford a car and was desperate for some mobility. Even though a car is more secure and reliable than a motorcycle, it's also much harder to find a parking place on the the busy streets of Manhattan. Good luck getting your car to the parking lot, while I park my motorcycle in front of the building. Also, the maintenance cost of a car is much higher.

3. No Commitments

One of my main reasons why I favor instead of cars. On my motorcycle I could go anywhere at anytime and had no problems, since the motorcycle (usually) only carries one passenger. In a car it gets worse because you need to carry around your friends and family, which gets quickly boring when you need to drive them through the rush hours.

On my bike I could go anywhere at any time and there were no expectations from anyone else - at least most of the time. On a bike you're normally alone. In a car many times you're carrying around your friends or family, but that's rare on a motorcycle.

Recently one of my friends was scammed (on a eBay auction) when trying to buy a used motorcycle. After he realized he was scammed, he proceeded to contact the adequate authorities while realizing he would never recover his money or catch the scammer. Based on his experience and the fact that I bought numerous items on eBay auctions (including three used motorcycles) I decided to create this short guideline in order to help people out.

1. Watch Out For The Price

Usually when things seem to good to be true, it's because they are. If you're looking on eBay for an auction for a used motorcycle and you see one for $2900, when the normal price averages $9000, you should proceed with caution.

Don't get me wrong, although there are people that sell their used motorcycles for a bargain (and I own one that proves it), there are also many folks out there trying to scam you. Which leads us to point #2.

2. They Don't Want Want You to Use the eBay Contact System

Many scammers want their victims to use regular e-mail accounts to exchange words ("My inbox is full" is the most common excuse), mainly because if the business goes sour and you get scammed, it's not eBay's fault. Make the deal on eBay! At least, when someone scams you during a transaction under eBay's watch dogs, the culprit gets punished.

3. Your Used Motorcycle is Traveling Around the Globe

Now here's the kicker, You decided to bid on this auction, not only because you liked the motorcycle, but also because the said item is (supposedly) near you. However, as time goes by and you start messaging the seller to find out the whereabouts of the motorcycle, he answers "It's on England." And now you're completed baffled. But wait, there's more!

4. FREE SHIPPING!

If they offer you free shipping then don't accept it! They will probably say this when you start getting impatient, usually after you ask to inspect the motorcycle. However, if you start getting angry, they argument we won't need to pay the shipping fees, because they will pay themselves, in order to reward you for being so patient.

5. Same Mileages?

Some scammers are too lazy to change their motorcycles mileage when posting an auction. It always raises a red flag when I see two different used motorcycles with the same mileage. What are the odds of that happening?

This is just some of the signs you should look for when bidding on eBay auctions. Although there are a lot of scammers out there, there are also great deals being made every minute! Also, always do a background check on the seller and ask around to know what people think about him.

The HP line is BMW's new high performance, cutting edge line up. It's the motorcycle equivalent of their M line of performance cars.

The HP2 Sport is the third motorcycle in the HP line following the releases of the HP2 Enduro and the HP2 Megamoto.

The HP-2 Sport is based on the R1200S but is out and out designed for sports riders who are looking for a machine that has performance as well as endurance.

The HP2 Sport keeps some of the concepts that BMW motorcycles have become known for such as the BMW Motorrad Telelever front suspension and the EVO Paralever rear suspension. Other components have been newly developed or highly modified for use in the motorcycle.

The HP-2 Sport is powered by a twin Boxer motor that has a capacity of 1170 cc. The engine's cylinder heads were completely redesigned which allows the engine to rev as high as 9500 rpm. The engine has a 101 mm bore and a 73 mm stroke and produces a maximum of 130 hp at 8,750 rpm and 85 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm.

The bike has a close ratio six speed gear box, with first and second gear having higher ratios. This puts the gear increments closer to each other and results in less of a rev drop when progressing up through the gears.

The bike also has a gear shift assistant which allows the rider to shift gears without using the clutch. It works by sensing when the gear lever is activated. Motorcycling - Picking The Right Bike

Choosing the right motorcycle is probably even more complicated than picking the family car. Sedan, Truck or SUV and pick a brand, then haggle about price. You're done. But there are a dozen different basic types of motorcycle before you even get to the stage of looking for a brand or add-ons.

Sportbikes, tourers, cruisers, motocross and several more basic types are available in as many varieties as the number of motorcycle gang movies.

Road Motorcycle (Cruiser)

These motorcycles are best for long distance. I have a Honda Shadow Ace 750, and I can ride it for longer distances than on a sportbike.

Cruisers and tourers get good gas mileage along with dozens of styling options, so you are sure to find one that will suit your personality.

I would suggest beginners start with at least a 600cc. You can buy smaller motorcycles with smaller engines, but you will probably soon outgrow it and want to move up to a bigger bike. I started out with a Kawasaki Eliminator 125. These bikes are mainly for novice motorcycle riders, or someone who has never been on a motorcycle before. The only reason I bought it was because a friend had it for sale for so cheap that I couldn't pass up the deal.

Sportbike

The next step up for speed, with maybe a slight compromise of comfort, is the sportbike. With engine sizes between 650cc to 1000cc you get plenty of acceleration for that perfect riding rush. You also get pretty good maneuverability and stopping power. I found this out on my husband's Honda CBR600RR after I spotted someone trying to pull out in front of me, and the stopping power was awesome.

On the downside, for anyone looking to use it for a commuting vehicle, sportbikes are swept for speed, not comfort. The riding position is more crouched and the wrists get a real workout. I can ride comfortably for about 20 minutes, and then it's time to switch bikes.

Either type can be gussied up with a variety of gadgets, carrying options and esthetic choices for paint, seat fabric and so on. Saddlebags, though, always look a little odd on sportbikes and large mirrors would definitely ruin the streamlined styling. Don't get tacky!

Think carefully before you buy either one of these types of motorcycle, since one doesn't serve the purpose of the other very well. They also won't be good choices for those who want to cruise the boulevard or take that cross-country trip with the gang.

Have you ever really sat down and looked at the benefits of riding a scooter or moped rather than driving a car or travelling on public transport? If you did you would go straight to your nearest moped shop and buy a nice little 50cc moped.

The first benefit is over car driving. A good car these days will set you back thousands and will cost you a load more in insurance, tax and petrol. These all add up to make the car the second most expensive thing you will buy and use behind a house. While some of us need a car for things such as family life many people have a car each and are the only ones who actually use it. Why when you could have a 50cc moped for example and spend only a fraction of the price and still get the same level of freedom.

Another benefit is over public transport. Take a train for example. We all know that only certain places will have a train station and you have to get to it first before you can even get on a train. Then you spend a small fortune on a ticket especially if its before 9am. You then stand waiting for a train to arrive and if your lucky won't be cancelled. When it does its full and you have to fight your way on to the train only to stand until you get to where your going and then the fight begins again just to get off. Then you have to repeat that in the evening on the way home. The buses can be better but they stop every mile and travel quite slowly. They take forever to get where your going and again you are stuck to a timetable assuming the buses turn up. Not always a good choice. A moped for example will give you the freedom to travel with a timetable. Even cheap mopeds like a 50cc moped would work out better than public transport. Would be a fair amount cheaper as well.

A new benefit of scooters and mopeds is the effect it has on the environment. One dangerous craze today is to go out and buy a huge car so big that you could be mistaken for thinking it's a tank. Guzzling fuel and heavily polluting the atmosphere. Now in the 21st century we are become more aware and conscious of the damage we are doing to the environment so again a scooter or moped would be a much better choice. They are so much lighter and use much less petrol. This means far lower carbon dioxide emissions. That's good for everyone. It also means you spend much less on petrol costs.

Those are the three main benefits of a scooter or moped over the alternatives. I think that it is the best option overall. I would suggest you go to your local moped shop or just search online and buy a moped even if just a cheap moped. There are so many makes, models and colours the only down side is you will find it hard to choose what moped to buy. It really is the best option for everyone.

Getting up in the mornings was getting increasingly difficult and it was only a few weeks later that I realised that I hated my job and wanted a change. My bosses were overloading me with work and using me like a slave. I wanted out.

I looked in the yellow pages and found a local moped shop and also did a search online and found several moped shops that would even deliver. 1. Basic Stoppie

The most important thing to remember in basic stoppie is to keep your body at the dead center of the bike with your head straight, arms stiff and shoulders squared. Placing your body at the center is what will cause the back wheel to kick up. Now, once you have speed and your body properly placed, pull the clutch in and brake. The initial break should be about 80% of a full brake. While doing this, make sure you transfer your weight to the front of the bike with your arms stiff so there won't be any unintentional steering.

Also, keep your body straight when you move forward. Then, bring your shoulders up until you are a little off the seat. Now, when the back is already up, gently let off the brake because as long you're braking hard, the back will continue to go up. The balance point is when you're hardly braking and your back is floating-not going higher and lower.

2. 180 Endo

In an 180 endo, you should know how to steer an endo first. This is what differentiates it from a stoppie, a stoppie does not need any steering. In endos, you need to add a steering input to make the back of your bike go around and then control it so that it won't be too fast or slow when going around. Make sure you are already at the balance point when your back wheel is kicking up. Remember that the higher your bike is, the easier it is to steer and the smoother it goes around. When you're already up, start counter steering.

You need to put major input on the handlebars so that your back will come around. It will really need strength to crank it around. To keep control of the bike, stay on top of the bike at all times. Usually, your bike will stall when there is not enough momentum behind it thus making you use more brakes. It is easier to make your bike come around when your height is higher. After the rotation, you need to pull your brake back to 80% for it to come around. You will always be at a dead stop with a 180.

I searched and searched for several weeks for a good deal (both online and offline) but Lady Luck wasn't with me that time.

However a few days later, I noticed an eBay auction for a Harley-Davidson Softail for only $5500. Since I thought something had to be wrong with it since it was so cheap I checked the seller's trade rating and contacted him.

After we exchanged emails we closed the deal. Unfortunately for him, he was going through a rough time and needed the money to pay off his debts. Later on, I became the owner of a nice Harley-Davidson.

Even though you know nothing about the seller or the desired item per se, you can always check their seller score to see what kind of people they are. I recommend always reading the negative feedback and only doing business with someone that has +95-98% positive ratings.

It can take a while until you find something you want, but when you have hundreds of new motorcycles auctions it will be a matter of time until you find The One.

A Brief History Of The ATV

As with many items that have gained strong popularity with the public, the All Terrain Vehicle(ATV) has a very interesting history. What started out as essentially a farming resource has become the machine around which a highly competitive sporting and racing industry has been built.

Long before Honda introduced a vehicle in 1970 which would kick off the "modern era" of the ATV, numerous American companies offered small off-road vehicles which were amphibious in nature and were designed to traverse swamps, streams and ponds as well as dry land. These vehicles were constructed of fiberglass or hard plastic and usually had six wheels, all driven, providing for a strong traction component. They were intended for multiple riders and had steering wheels or control sticks instead of the standard motorcycle type mechanism used with the modern ATV.

In Japan, a similar vehicle was being used in farms that were located in mountainous terrain. In 1970, Honda introduced the US90 and was aided in its marketing effort by the James Bond movie "Diamonds Are Forever"; a motion picture in which the ATV played a significant part. The unique vehicle featured large balloon type tires instead of a mechanical suspension. The ability to go anywhere on country or terrain that most other vehicles could not cross soon made them popular with US and Canadian hunters, as well those just looking for a good trail ride.

In the early 1980's, ATV's were introduced that had a much lower tire profile and suspension. It was at this time that the first three-wheeled ATV was developed for public use. During this decade, numerous manufacturers entered the "sporting" ATV market, among them such high profile names such as Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Polaris.

Safety issues arose with the three wheel ATV and it is a little known fact that the fledgling industry was nearly banned from the public by Congress because of these safety issues. Three wheeled production ended in 1987 due to consent decrees between the major manufacturers and the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the four wheeled ATV became the norm. Although these consent decrees ended in 1997, allowing companies to once again make and market 3-wheel models, very few were actually marketed and sold.

Today's ATV models generally fall into either the sporting or utility camps. The sporty models, for the most part, are small, light two wheel drive vehicles with a manual suspension and rapid acceleration. The utility ATV's, on the other hand, are much bigger four wheel drive vehicles and have a much slower maximum speed than their sporting counterparts. They also have a much needed feature; the ability to haul small loads on attached racks and/or small dump beds. Sporting ATV's are designed for performance rather than utility and can reach speeds of 100 miles per hour or more.

The ATV market has captured the interest of Generation Y consumers(18-24) and the All Terrain Vehicle has exploded in popularity in recent years, even having its own racing circuit. With more and more companies entering the ATV market, it is virtually certain that this unique off road vehicle is here to stay.

Present Generation: The present generation of the off road go karts are all primarily of Chinese production, these garnered a lot of following who are willing to overlook the reliability factor in favour of their cheap and appealing nature. There exists a thin line when it comes to differentiating off road karts and off road buggies. The manufacturers themselves are perplexed about the usage of the term "buggy" and "go kart" that they have been often interchanged. The major difference between the two is that go karts are built from scratch and does not involve modifying an aged vehicle like the buggy. Moreover, the go karts are not really intended for road use and are crafted sans a differential. In the US, the term "buggy" is however used to describe a vehicle which may be referred to as a "go kart" in other parts of the world. Buggies are constructed by modifying an existing vehicle, usually the Volkswagen Bug. They are used for both off road and on road purposes; the off road mentioned refers mainly to deserts and beaches. So you want to tear up the dunes with your own dune buggy but you're not sure whether to buy a complete turn key buggy or use some dune buggy plans to build your own? Well firstly there are a number of issues you need to address before you decide which route to take.

The main factor that people consider when deciding to buy/build a dune buggy is the cost of the project, how much is it going to cost me if i decide to buy one Vs. build one myself? Now i can't give you an accurate figure for each as it will depend on where you live, how much shipping will cost and how much materials cost in your area if you decide to build one. It will also depend on how skilled you are with metal fabrication, welding etc. If you will have to pay for a shop to fabricate the parts you need you will obviously be paying more in the end compared to someone who can do it all themselves in their own garage/workshop.

But most of the time its cheaper (and more fun!) to build a buggy yourself. For most people this is easily achievable in their own garage or workshop as long as you have some basic tools and machinery or you have access to some, you know things like a welder, tube bender, grinder, drill press, you get the picture. I should mention that you can hire these things too if you want to or just take the specialized tasks to your local engineering shop. Usually when you tell the guys what its for they get pretty interested and will want to know more about your project and up giving you a good price!

I highly recommend NOT designing your own dune buggy from scratch unless you know what you are doing and have experience in design. Be warned that if you do it will usually end in disaster and a half finished bundle of steel sitting in your garage. That said the most important factor in dune buggy construction is which plans to use for construction. If you get this wrong or use the cheapest or plans you can find you will regret it in the end as they rarely turn out how you first imagined. Lets face it you are about to invest quite a bit of money and time into building a dune buggy so make sure you choose quality plans from the start.

Most good quality, proven plans will set you back around $100-$200 and will give you good solid information and a step by step procedure to building your buggy. You can get plans for cheaper but usually these are quite basic and you won't get the detail you need to build the buggy properly.

Also make sure the company you are buying the plans from has some kind of support you can call on in case you get stuck and need some advice, this could be as simple as a user form that has members that have constructed their own buggies and are willing to give you advice for free. Have you taken notice of the fact that there is an increasing number of women ATV riders today as compared to many years back? And for a bunch of people too. So, what you should do is to write down a list of things that the parents and kids might need for the trip, print it out and ask your child to pass it along to his or her friends. Get them roaring ready for the ATV trip

About a week before the trip, the kids might be a trifle too excited about the trip as it is and this is a good time to sit them down and discuss the safety rules. I think it is always best to enroll the kids together into ATV safety training courses together but I understand that something so extensive is not always possible. And you need consent from all the parents....hence, it could be a little tough, but not impossible. Otherwise, list down all the safety rules and precautions, plus a map of the ATV trail you're heading out to and hand them to the parents before the trip.

Cheer them on!

Some people like to do a last round of reminding the night before the trip but I think there's enough reminding as it is. You can remind them again when you're already at the destination. The night before the quad trip with the kids, I think the best thing you can do for them to remind them to HAVE LOADS OF FUN and take care of each other!
